Description and Uses
4-Methyl-3-nitroaniline is one of the intermediates or products in the photochemical transformations (λ=254 nm) of 2,4-dinitrotoluene (2,4-DNT) in aqueous solutions containing the cationic surfactant cetyltrimethylammonium (CTA) and the anionic nucleophile borohydride (BH4-)[1].
4-Methyl-3-nitroaniline is a compound useful in organic synthesis. It is used to make pigments and dyes. It could also be used in Environmental Testing. It could be used as raw material to synthesized N-(4-methyl-3-nitrophenyl)-4-(4-methylpiperazin-1-ylmethyl)benzamide through acylation[2].
