Description and Uses
Boscalid is a broad spectrum carboximide fungicide. It has a low aqueous solubility and is not volatile. It can be very persistent in both soil and aquatic systems depending upon local conditions. There is some risk of leaching to groundwater. It is moderately toxic to most fauna and flora although risk is low for honeybees. Boscalid has a low oral mammalian toxicity.
Boscalid is a fungicide belonging to the class of carboxamides. Boscalid acts by inhibiting spore germination, germ tube elongation and is also effective on all other stages of fungal development. Bos calid is used in the agriculture to protect crops from gray mold, powdery mildew and other fungus.
