Description and Uses

An obsolete organochlorine pesticide once used on both crops and livestock. Due to its age and usage status very little environmental fate or ecotoxicity data is available. It is moderately toxic to mammals, a liver toxin and neurotoxin. It is also an irritant.

1,2-Dichlorobenzene is used as a solvent; asa fumigant; as an insecticide for termites;as a degreasing agent for metals, wool, andleather; and as a heat transfer medium.
