Description and Uses
L-Glutamic acid α-tert-butyl ester (CAS 45120-30-7) is a high-purity, asymmetrically protected amino acid building block. Its synonyms include: H-Glu-OtBu, L-Glu-OtBu, Glu-OtBu, 1-tert-butyl L-glutamate and glutamic acid tert-butyl ester, amongst others. The α-position of this molecule contains a carboxyl group protected by a tert-butyl ester, whilst the carboxyl group at the other end is free and can be used to attach side chains for the preparation of long-acting GLP-1 analogues or for PROTAC synthesis. Please note the distinction in structure from L-Glutamic acid γ-tert-butyl ester (CAS 2419-56-9).
L-Glutamic Acid α-tert-Butyl Ester is an ester of L-Glutamic Acid used in the synthesis of enantiopure isotopomers of amino acids.
