Description and Uses
Nonadecane (C19H40) is a high-performance medium-temperature phase change material (PCM) characterised by a suitable melting point, high latent heat, good chemical stability and unique rotational phase behaviour. It is widely used in building energy efficiency, smart textiles, thermal energy storage systems and research into phase change mechanisms.
Nonadecane is a long chain saturated aliphatic hydrocarbon. Nonadecane is found in tar from coal and other forssil organic matter. Nonadecane is used as a fragrance agent in cosmetics and perfumes.
