Description and Uses
Pefloxacin mesylate is a broad-spectrum, third generation quinolone antibacterial agent useful in the treatment of infections due to a variety of organisms, including methicillin-resistant S. aureus. A major metabolite of pefloxacin is norfloxacin.
Pefloxacin mesylate is a synthetic chemotherapeutic agent and an antibacterial agent with IC50 of 6.7 nM.
