Description and Uses
Methyl 2-bromonicotinate serves as a precursor in Sonogashira coupling with 1-trans-dichlorobis-ethynyl-4-methoxybenzene to synthesize Methyl 2-((4-methoxyphenyl)ethynyl)nicotinate, and undergoes Suzuki–Miyaura cross-coupling with 2-chlorophenylboronic acid followed by lactonization to produce coumarin-fused pyridine[2][3].
