Description and Uses
Maturation Inducing Steroid (MIS; 17α,20β-dihydroxy-4-pregnen-3-one) is one of the key mediators for oocyte maturation in fish. Several different names are synonymous with this molecule including Maturation Inducing Hormone (MIH), Fish Maturation Hormone (FMH), and 17α,20β-dihydroxy progesterone (17α,20β-DiOH-P). MIS is produced in ovarian follicular cells and acts directly on the oocyte via a specific receptor to cause oocyte maturation. Cayman Chemical’s MIS EIA tracer, antiserum, and standard are designed for the measurement of MIS in a standard solid-phase enzyme immunoassay format.Needed but not supplied: Please download the kit booklet to verify if UltraPure Water (Milli-Q or equivalent) or any other components are needed for this assay.WARNING This product is not for human or veterinary use.
