Description and Uses
Physalaemin is an oligopeptide that is originally derived from the skin of the South American frog Physalaemus fuscumaculatus. It belongs to the class of kinins and shares a similar chemical structure and mode of action with Substance P. It is a potent vasodilator and has hypotensive effects.
Physalaemin is a neuropeptide found in amphibians that has shown potential in the treatment of Sjogren's disease.
