Description and Uses
Furfuryl acetate is a flavoring ingredient. It was used in the synthesis of 5-acetoxymethyl-2-vinylfuran and 5-hydroxymethyl-2-vinylfuran via Vilsmeier-Haack and Wittig reactions.
