Description and Uses
4,4‘,4’'-Trihydroxytriphenylmethane can be used to prepare a low-melting polycarbonitrile phthalonitrile monomer (MDTP) containing an alkyl centre, which can be cured to give MDTP polymers. MDTP is synthesised by nucleophilic substitution of 4,4′,4′′-trihydroxytriphenylmethane and 4-nitrophthalonitrile[1].
