Description and Uses
1H,1H,7H-Dodecafluoroheptyl methacrylate readily copolymerizes with other acrylate monomers in solution. Its copolymers are particularly suitable for coating formulations. Copolymerizing dodecyl fluoroheptyl methacrylate with acrylic monomers used in coatings can improve the chemical stability, weather resistance, hydrolysis resistance, and hydrophobic and oleophobic properties of the coatings. It can be used as a component of various specialty coatings. Due to its excellent chemical stability, this compound is used as a protective coating for aircraft. It can also be copolymerized with other vinyl and acrylic compounds as a smoothing coating for paper, which is essential for protecting the surface of printed paper and improving gloss, as well as enhancing anti-blocking and anti-breakage properties. It can be used in the manufacture of contact lenses, photocopying toners, optical fibers, pigments and coatings, photosensitive resin materials, adhesives, and medical devices.
