Description and Uses

Pentacarbonylchlororhenium(I) was used to study π-electron deficient complexes between tricarbonylhalorhenium and diimine ligands a well as to prepare [3]-ferrocenophane complexes. It has also been employed in preparation of a series of mixed-valence compounds of rhenium and iron. These compounds find application in the study of charge-transfer processes.
