Description and Uses
Guazatine is a guanidine fungicide used to control range of pathogens mainly on citrus fruit. It is highly soluble in water, non-volatile and tends to be non-persistent in soil systems but is more stable and persistent in water systems. It has a low potential for leaching to groundwater. It has a moderate mammalian oral toxicity but there is not evidence of chronic issues such as carcinogenicity, endocrine disruption or neurotoxicity. It is highly toxic to birds but less so to other terrestrial and aquatic species.
