Description and Uses
3-Hydroxy-2-naphthoyl-ortho-phenetidide is mainly used as a base agent for printing and dyeing cotton fabrics. Used alone or in combination with red base KB, RL, or red salt AL, it can produce a bright yellow-red color. When used in combination with Naphthol AS-D as a base agent, or with red base KB, it is mainly used for dyeing red flag fabric. It is also used for dyeing vinylon, viscose fiber, silk, nylon, and diacetate fiber, but generally not for printing.
