Description and Uses

Xylydil Blue I is a synthetic colorimetric reagent that has been widely used for the spectrophotometric detection of magnesium. It forms a purple complex with the magnesium ion in alkaline conditions.

Xylidyl blue I is a complexometric reagent. In colorimetric determination tests, Xylidyl blue I can be used. Xylidyl blue I can be used for the determination of magnesium in plasma and urine. It also functions as a metal ion indicator.
