Description and Uses
Tetrakis(hydroxymethyl)phosphonium sulfate (THPS) is an organophosphorus compound. It is used as a precursor in the flame retardant manufacturing process, a biocide in water systems, and a tanning agent in the leather industry. THPS is a safe aqueous solution with antimicrobial properties that is significantly less toxic, effective at lower concentrations, and more biodegradable than other traditional biocides.
Tetrakis(hydroxymethyl)phosphonium sulfate is a green and environmentally friendly quaternary phosphonium salt bactericide, mainly used as a biocidal agent. It is widely used in water treatment, oil fields, papermaking and other industries. Its outstanding advantage is that it can be rapidly degraded into completely harmless substances after use, greatly reducing the environmental impact of these industries. It is also an internationally recognized permanent flame retardant for pure cotton and polyester-cotton fabrics.
