Description and Uses
5-Bromo-3-indolyl-beta-D-galactopyranoside is a substrate for beta-galactosidase that is converted, by the enzyme, into an insoluble indigoblue chromophore. It is also used in Lac gene detection systems, in immunoblotting and immunocytochemical assays.
